Senior DevOps Engineer

Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS, Kubernetes)
Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week in office

A leading technology organisation is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support and evolve a modern, cloud-native platform. This role focuses on building and operating scalable infrastructure, improving automation, and ensuring high availability across production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise AWS-based infrastructure across multiple environments and regions
• Manage and enhance Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, including autoscaling and deployments
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability across systems
• Ensure strong security, compliance, and governance practices
• Drive cost optimisation initiatives across cloud environments
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, and system reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers

Required Experience

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering roles
• Strong expertise in AWS services and architecture
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions) and GitOps practices
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and distributed systems
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and access controls

Desirable Skills

• Experience in regulated or multi-region environments
• Exposure to cost optimisation / FinOps practices
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures or workflow tools
